Snodgrass attended Mennonite College of Nursing with help from an
ALMH nursing scholarship and she began working on the acute care
unit in 1997. Only six months later she transferred to the
obstetrics department where she spent 12 years working nights. Six
years ago, Snodgrass transferred to a day position in the
Cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation department.
During the average day you can find Snodgrass monitoring around
45-55 cardiac rehabilitation patients and 20 pulmonary
rehabilitation patients in the gym at ALMH. Heart rhythms and blood
pressures are closely monitored to ensure patients safety during
exercise. Snodgrass also conducts a lot of patient education as it
is a big component in order for patients to develop a heart- and
lung-healthy lifestyle.
Snodgrass was nominated for the employee of the month honor by a
grateful patient who noticed that “Paula always has a cheery
attitude and a positive interest in each patient. That positive
attitude is what keeps many of the patients continuing to workout
even after their time is up.”

Snodgrass is proud to work at ALMH. “I was never interested in working at a big
hospital. ALMH is one of the top 100 critical access hospitals in America. It’s
a great place to work because of our dedicated staff members. I work with a
great team in the cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation department and I know that our
patients benefit because of that,” said Snodgrass.
Snodgrass lives in Lincoln with her husband, Steve. They have two daughters,
Tanna and Megan.
ALMH is a 25-bed critical access hospital located at 200 Stahlhut Drive in
Lincoln, Illinois and is an affiliate of Memorial Health System. ALMH employs
over 315 in a variety of roles. For more information about ALMH, visit ALMH.org.
