The Warriors, the NBA's last remaining unbeaten team for the second
year in a row, moved within one of their franchise record for
consecutive season-opening wins, set in 1960-61 while the club was
playing in Philadelphia.
Golden State has won its eight games by a total of 142 points, an
average of 17.8.
Warriors star Stephen Curry, the NBA's leading scorer, finished with
22 points, but he hit only seven of 18 shots. Detroit's Andre
Drummond, the league's top rebounder, was limited to 14 points and
15 boards.
Timberwolves 117, Hawks 107
ATLANTA -- Minnesota held on to end Atlanta's seven-game winning
streak, and in the process, stopped a stretch of futility that went
back 13 years.
Andrew Wiggins scored 33 points, including eight down the stretch,
and the Timberwolves won despite letting a 34-point lead temporarily
slip away.
The Hawks took a 107-106 lead on a basket by Paul Millsap, but
Wiggins converted a three-point play with three minutes left and the
Timberwolves pulled back away from there. The Timberwolves had lost
12 straight in Atlanta since recording a 103-93 victory on Nov. 20,
2002.
Bulls 111, 76ers 88
PHILADELPHIA -- Nikola Mirotic had 20 points and a season-high 10
rebounds as Chicago extended Philadelphia's losing streak to 17
games.
Doug McDermott scored 18 points and Pau Gasol added 16 points, nine
rebounds and six blocked shots for the Bulls, who were without
Joakim Noah because of a sore left knee.
Rookie Jahlil Okafor finished with 21 points and a season-high 15
rebounds for the Sixers, who were without Nerlens Noel because of
injuries to both wrists.
Pacers 97, Magic 84
INDIANAPOLIS -- Paul George scored 27 points, George Hill added 23,
and Indiana dominated the final six minutes.
The Pacers trailed 81-78, but during the final 6:27, they outscored
the Magic 19-3, picking up the defensive pressure.
Orlando got 21 points from Evan Fournier and 15 from Victor Oladipo.
Nuggets 108, Trail Blazers 104
DENVER -- J.J. Hickson had 19 points and 13 rebounds against his
former team, and Denver beat Portland.
Nuggets rookie Emmanuel Mudiay finished with 18 points, including
two free throws with 18.3 seconds left as Denver completed its first
home win of the season. Kenneth Faried added 17 points for Denver.

Damian Lillard had a game-high 30 points and Mason Plumlee had 15
points for Portland, which has lost two straight.
Spurs 106, Kings 88
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points, and Patty
Mills came off the bench to score seven of his nine points during a
key run to start the fourth quarter as San Antonio beat Sacramento.
Mills hit two layups and a 3-pointer to help San Antonio open the
final period with an 23-12 blitz that made the difference. The Spurs
twice pulled away after Sacramento rallied from double-digit
deficits.
LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, and Tim
Duncan had 11 points and 14 rebounds for San Antonio, which beat
Sacramento for the fourth straight time. DeMarcus Cousins returned
from a four-game injury absence and led Sacramento with 21 points
and 12 rebounds.
Clippers 94, Grizzlies 92
LOS ANGELES -- Blake Griffin scored 24 points and grabbed 12
rebounds, leading Los Angeles to a victory over Memphis.
J.J. Redick had 16 points as the Clippers ended a two-game skid.
Chris Paul returned after missing Saturday's loss to the Houston
Rockets with a sore right groin, and he scored 14 points. DeAndre
Jordan had 13 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Zach Randolph scored 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds for
Memphis, which dropped its third in a row. Marc Gasol had 18 points
but missed some crucial foul shots with the game on the line. Mike
Conley added 16 points, five assists and six rebounds for the
Grizzlies.
