[November 17, 2015]  BEASON - Mary Elizabeth Drake, 90, of Beason, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday November 12, 2015 at the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondaym November 16, at the Beason United Methodist Church

Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday November 17 at the church

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Lincoln    Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Drake, 90, of Beason, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday November 12, 2015 at the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Mary was born on June 8, 1925, in Kewanee, to Godfrey and Mabel Carlson Jacobson. She married Robert E. Drake on July 18, 1948 in Galva. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2013.

Surviving are four daughters, Margaret (David) St. Clair of Alexandria, VA, Nancy (Dennis) Uphoff of Beason, Sarah (Dan) Starkey of Cincinnati, OH, and Tina (Bruce) Gumbel of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 

Mary was an elementary teacher at the Beason Grade School for 20 years. She was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church, White Shrine and a 4-H leader.

Services for Mary will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday November 17, 2015 at the Beason United Methodist Church with Rev. Darrell Howard officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Beason United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, rural Beason. Memorials may be made to the Beason United Methodist Church, Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, or American Diabetes Association. Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
