[November 17, 2015]  LINCOLN - William R. Gober, 75, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 6:43 a.m. at his home.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 18th at Holy Family Catholic Church, Lincoln

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

William R. "Ronnie" Gober, 75, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 6:43 a.m. at his home. He died after a year long battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

William Ronald Gober was born on March 18, 1940 in Lincoln, the son of William Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Petelinsek Gober. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Barbee on January 5, 1963 in Fairmont City, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are his five sons: Todd Gerard Gober of Mascoutah, Chris Gerard Gober of St. Charles, MO, Eric Gerard Gober of Orange City, IA, Chad Gerard Gober of Atlanta, GA, and Ryan Gerard Gober of Lincoln; one sister: Gail Beth Jones of Springfield; seven grandchildren: Brittany, Breanne, Brooklynne, Alexandra (Lexi), Elizabeth (Liza), Cole Gerard, and Louis William; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Director

Ron graduated from Lincoln Community High School in the Class of 1958. He retired from the Lincoln Post Office in 2002 after 30 years of service as a Letter Carrier. He was currently employed by the Peasley Funeral Home for the last 13 years.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council # 1250. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Ronnie was a loyal friend, a wonderful father and devoted husband for 52 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Memorial Home Care (Hospice).

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home.
