[November 21, 2015]   Are you in the mood for the holidays? Well, if you aren't, this weekend's going to have a little nip in the air that might help get you thinking, plus, it's one of the best weekends of locally crafted holiday shopping throughout Logan County.

You can get your start on Friday in New Holland where Aper's Crafts will host their annual Christmas Open House from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Located on the main drag, Route 10, as you enter town from the east the spacious two story home is just a block after the curve at 105 N. Peoria Street; enter from the side street.

The husband and wife team handcrafts all items in their home, or the garage where wood working takes place. You'll find cheerful snowmen of all sorts; whimsical, rustic, and primitive wood works and designs, and items of all sorts great for display or gift giving. Aper's has beautiful reversible aprons and other hand-sewn items that would make great gifts too. You'll find an abundance of free-standing floor, shelf and wall decor of all sorts.

There are even two separate rooms for bargain hunters, one has marked down items from last year, and there's a super bargain room with lower priced items, all great buys.

The Aper's open house continues on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, after tootling around New Holland, you might head south for the 27th Annual Christmas on Vinegar Hill held in Mount Pulaski, Elkhart and Chestnut. See this link to the Mount Pulaski website for maps and details of 30 participating crafters and businesses.

This weekend in Logan County, if you can get out and these fun events will help you get your cheer on; which is good, for the holidays are coming and quickly.
