[November 21, 2015]  LATHAM -  Georgette E. Vaughan, 94, passed away at 7:08 p.m. on November 18, 2015 at Vonderleith Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Visitation: Saturday, November 28, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.

Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, November 28, at the funeral home.

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Georgette E. Vaughan, 94, passed away at 7:08 p.m. on November 18, 2015 at Vonderleith Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Georgette was born on March 2, 1921 in Ghent, Belgium to Georges and Aline (De Bie) Van Wassenhove. She was united in marriage to Everett G. Vaughan on March 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents and son Ronald.

Surviving is one grandson, Barry Vaughan of Dixon, daughter-in-law LuAnna Vaughan of Dixon, and one sister Liliane De Vrieze of Ghent Belgium.

Georgette was a bookkeeper and secretary to the Superintendent of Schools for Warrensburg-Latham School District. She was a member of the Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Retired Teachers Association, and the Belgium Club of Illinois. She was a Belgian war bride who arrived in America in 1946 and later became an American Citizen.


Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 28, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral home in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Two Mile Grove Cemetery, rural Latham, following the service. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
