Master Naturalist Jim Struebing said, “The idea for nature hikes is
to get kids outside year around. There is still so much to see and
learn about, even in the colder weather months.”
The hikes will be held outside if the weather permits so appropriate
clothing and boots should be worn. If necessary, the group will meet
inside the maintenance building at the park. The programs will be
from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Mondays, November 16th through December
7th.
Date and topics include:
November 16, “What are conifers?”
November 23, “Decomposition in nature/composting at home.”
November 30, “All about Christmas trees.”
December 7, “What tree bark can tell you.”
