The Lady Lynx showed no signs of intimidation in the early going as
they battled their way to a 22-22 tie score in set one, but a
sideout and two quick points ended the set in Lincoln Land's favor
25-22. In set two the teams traded sidouts and small leads all the
way up to 14-14 when Lincoln went on a 3-0 run to grab the lead then
held on for a 26-24 set win. However, in sets three and four,
Lincoln Land served their way to large leads and did not let LC back
in the match with set wins of 25-15 and 25-13. The loss dropped
Lincoln's record on the year to 9-8.

LC Coach Mark Tippett:
"Tonight we showed that we have what it takes to compete against a
top tier program. The first two sets were well played by both teams.
We passed the ball well off of serve receive, and our blockers did a
great job of controlling the net.

"In the last two sets, Lincoln Land just played a more consistent
game than we did and were able to outlast us on a few long rallies.
We could not respond with runs of points on our side, so the scores
got a little lopsided.
"I was proud of the way our team kept competing against them though,
and I look forward to a rematch in a couple of weeks at the MWAC
Tournament."
Lincoln travels to East Peoria on Friday evening to take on ICC and
on Saturday the team will host a triangular set of matches. LC will
play Frontier CC at 11:00 a.m. and Oakton CC at 3 p.m.
