Obituary
Dolores Chapman, 90, passed away at 5:18 p.m. on
October 2, 2015 at Hopedale Medical Complex in
Hopedale.
Dolores was born on July 19, 1925 in Chicago;
daughter of John and Hildegarde Lange Detjen. She
was united in marriage to Eugene Chapman on November
4, 1950 in Emden. He preceded her in death on August
23, 2012.
Surviving Dolores are her children: Philip
(Elizabeth) Chapman of Emden, Brent (Carol) Chapman
of Emden, Sharon (Terry) Blackert of Geneseo; one
brother: Detlef (Georgia) Detjen; seven
grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one
great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by
her parents, brother, Jack and one sister,
Hildegarde “Lovey” Meeker.
Dolores was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of
Emden, where she sang in the choir as well. She
enjoyed flower arranging and was a member of Oasis
Senior Center. |
Services for Dolores will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday
October 8, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in
Emden, IL with Rev. John Schurter officiating.
Visitation will be two hours prior (9:00-11:00 a.m.)
to the service. Burial at Hartsburg Union Cemetery
will follow the service. Memorials may be made to
St. Peter Lutheran Church or Oasis Senior Center.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
