Charles injured his knee in Sunday's contest against the Chicago
Bears and was unable to put weight on his right leg. The Chiefs
feared a serious injury and it was confirmed Monday by an MRI exam.
Charles, in his eighth NFL season, has topped 1,000 yards five times
during his Kansas City career.
Charles tore the ACL in his left knee in 2011 when he played in just
two games.
Charcandrick West has been serving as Charles' backup.

Brandon Weeden won't be unseated as the starting quarterback of the
Dallas Cowboys.
NFL Network reported that, barring a change of heart by the coaching
staff, Weeden -- and not Matt Cassel -- would be the starter for the
Cowboys when the team returns from a bye week.

Cowboys All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant, recovering from a
fractured right foot, has received a therapeutic injection to help
improve his healing.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Bryant had bone marrow stem
cells removed from his hip last week in Colorado and injected into
his ankle in hopes of speeding the process of healing from the
injury suffered in the season opener on Sept. 13.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles suffered a Grade 1
sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder during Sunday's game
against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced, but he is not
expected to miss any games.

The Arizona Cardinals reached an agreement on a one-year contract
with veteran pass rusher Dwight Freeney.
The 35-year-old outside linebacker passed a physical with the team,
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported.

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Will Davis is out for the season with a
torn ACL suffered during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Davis, 25, was acquired by the Ravens from the Miami Dolphins last
month in exchange for a 2016 seventh-round NFL Draft pick. He made
his Ravens debut in Week 4 and eventually became the team's third
cornerback.

The Buffalo Bills added linebacker IK Enemkpali to the active roster
and placed running back Cierre Wood on season-ending injured reserve
with a knee injury.
Enemkpali was signed by the Bills on Sept. 11, the same day he was
suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season stemming
from the incident in which he punched and broke the jaw of former
New York Jets teammate quarterback Geno Smith.

The New York Giants dedicated Sunday night's game to tight end
Daniel Fells, who remains hospitalized with a staph infection that
has led to five surgeries and concerns that he could lose his foot.
- - - New Orleans Saints receiver Marques Colston suffered a
separated shoulder in Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles,
according to the NFL Network.
There isn't yet a timetable for how long he will be sidelined.

The Indianapolis Colts released quarterback Josh Johnson and signed
free agent return specialist Marcus Thigpen.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Johnson was signed by the Colts as a free
agent on Oct. 7 because of the uncertainty regarding Andrew Luck's
shoulder injury.

The Miami Dolphins promoted Darren Rizzi to assistant head
coach/special teams coordinator.
The Dolphins continue to make coaching staff changes in the wake of
head coach Joe Philbin's dismissal last week and the promotion of
