The evening did not start out well for LC as the team
struggled from behind the serving line, missing six serves on
their way to a 25-21 loss.
In set two, LC figured out how to keep the ball in play and
dominated the scoring. The Lady Lynx raced out to a commanding
10-2 lead, which included a six-point run of serves from
sophomore setter Ashley Robinson. Lincoln maintained a wide
margin over Millikin throughout the set to win it 25-13.
However, in set three LC fell back into the habit of missing
serves and fell behind 21-17. Sophomore Katie Jordan lifted the
team by serving five points in a row to put Lincoln up 22-21.
Jordan's next serve sailed long, but a kill by sophomore middle
hitter Lauren Wendt and two MU hitting errors gave Lincoln the
25-22 win.
Up two sets to one, LC regained their confidence and again built
a huge lead, this time jumping ahead 8-1 behind the tough jump
serve of Lauren Wendt. From there, the Lady Lynx cruised to a
25-12 victory.
The win lifts the team's season record to 18-12.

LC Coach Mark Tippett: Our lack of focus behind the serving line
was a big problem tonight. In the sets we kept the serves in, we
were able to run off points by defending well and running our
offense. We showed once again that we are a tough team to deal
with when we limit our unforced errors. I was very pleased that
we had a good turnout for the event and were able to get another
win at home.
Today, Lincoln will host their final home matches of the season.
LC plays Kaskaskia College at 10:00 am and will celebrate their
sophomore players before the final match of the day at 2:00 p.m.
versus Sauk Valley.
