10/24/2015 MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Escobar, Alcides
SS Alcides Escobar was named the ALCS Most Valuable Player. Escobar hit
.478, with two doubles, five RBIs and scored six runs in the six-game
series against the Blue Jays. "It's a surprise," Escobar said of the MVP
trophy. "I know I'm playing really good and my team is playing really
good, together we play. And when I heard the news, I was happy for
that."

MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Zobrist, Ben
2B Ben Zobrist, who homered in the first inning, scored eight runs
in the series, setting a Royals' record for runs in a postseason
series. Hall of Famer George Brett held the record with seven runs
in the 1978 ALCS against the Yankees in four games in a best-of-five
series.
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Moustakas, Mike
3B Mike Moustakas homered in the second, his first postseason home
run this year after hitting five last year. His six postseason home
runs rank second in franchise history. George Brett has 10
postseason homers.
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Cain, Lorenzo
CF Lorenzo Cain singled and walked. He has reached base in 15
consecutive postseason games. OF Amos Otis holds the Royals' record,
reaching base in 16 consecutive postseason games. "We played another
great game tonight and we're going to another World Series and it's
going to be awesome," Cain said.
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Davis, Wade
RHP Wade Davis pitched out of a huge jam in the ninth inning. A
runner on third with nobody out and runners on second and third with
one out, but did not allow a run to pick up the victory. "We had a
little turmoil, but I'm glad we got out of it," Davis said. "At that
point, it was about as bad as it could get, a man on third with no
outs. Just hoping for some magic and get out of it."
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Price, David
LHP David Price got away with a no-decision, although he left
trailing in the seventh. He allowed three turns on five hits, while
striking out eight and walking one in 6 2/3 innings. He snapped a
seven-game postseason losing streak.

MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Osuna, Roberto
RHP Roberto Osuna was charged with the loss, giving up a run in the
eighth inning. Osuna, 20, is the youngest pitcher in any American
League postseason game to record a decision.
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Bautista, Jose
RF Jose Bautista blasted two home runs and drove in all the Blue
Jays runs. He became the first player time in franchise history to
have a multi-homer postseason game. The last player to hit two home
runs in an ALCS game was Jhonny Peralta of the Tigers against the
Yankees in Game 4, 2012, against the Yankees.
-----------------------------------------------
MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Encarnacion, Edwin
DH Edwin Encarnacion and LF Ben Revere each doubled. That brought
the Blue Jays' doubles total to 23 for the postseason, eclipsing
Toronto's 21 in the 1993 postseason, to set a franchise record.
