[October 27, 2015]  LINCOLN - The Logan County Board held a special board meeting on Monday, October 26, 2015 to announce the new County Board office manager, and to establish salaries for County Board office personnel, and vote on two budget amendments.

Emily Davenport made a motion that the board hire Brenda Clark to be the County Board Office Manager. She said Clark had great references from a Lincoln business owner, from the former Dewitt County State's Attorney, and from her preacher in Kenney. Davenport said they all had wonderful things to say about her. Clark accepted the offer of a $28,000 annual salary. All board members present approved the motion.

Clark replaces Pam Meagher, who was hired in December, 2010 to replace JoAnne Marlin as she retired 19 years with the board. Meagher has taken a job in the private sector in line with her primary duties as PCOM (project compliance and oversight management) for the public transportation system while serving the board.

Ruben made a motion that both office personnel be paid $28,000, which was approved unanimously. For Clark, the salary will be effective when she starts in November. For administrative assistant Michelle Barr, the salary will be effective December 1.

Barr said the board looked at the total amount in the budget for salaries in that office and divided the pay equally, saving $1,000 in salaries.

Davenport asked if the board was going to talk about the office position duties. Chuck Ruben said the Executive Committee works on that. Chairman David Hepler said it would be a good idea to do that soon. Vice Chairman Bob Farmer said the would work on the both job descriptions together.
