[October 28, 2015]  Oct 27 (The Sports Xchange) - Kobe Bryant is expected to be on the floor for his 20th NBA season when the Los Angeles Lakers open Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Staples Center.

There have been some questions about Bryant's health leading up to the opener, but Lakers coach Byron Scott said a leg contusion that limited the veteran guard in practice wouldn't keep him off the floor "unless something crazy happens" before tipoff.

The Golden State Warriors failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension with forward Harrison Barnes and he will become a restricted free agent after this season.

The two sides could not come to terms before the Nov. 2 deadline and Barnes chose to focus on the season rather than continue to engage in negotiations.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will honor Flip Saunders with a commemorative patch on their uniforms this season.

Saunders, the team president and coach, died Sunday after a battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was 60.

The Memphis Grizzlies exercised a third-year contract option with guard Jordan Adams on Tuesday.

Adams, the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, is now signed through the 2016-17 season. The 21-year-old averaged 3.1 points and 0.9 rebounds in 30 games with the Grizzlies as a rookie in 2014-15. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
