[October 28, 2015]  Oct 27 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Tuesday's National Hockey League games.

Canucks 5, Canadiens 1

Rookie center Jared McCann scored two goals, and the Vancouver Canucks beat Montreal 5-1 Tuesday to snap the Canadiens' season-opening winning streak.

Montreal (9-1-0) failed to tie the NHL record of 10 wins to begin a season, a mark shared by the 1993-94 Toronto Maple Leafs and 2006-07 Buffalo Sabres.

Right winger Derek Dorsett had a goal and an assist for Vancouver, who ended a four-game losing skid and improved to 4-2-3. Right winger Radim Vrbata, on the power play, and defenseman Luca Sbisa also scored for the Canucks, who won at home for the first time this season after five losses.

Bruins 6, Coyotes 0

The Boston Bruins finally won a home game, and goalie Tuukka Rask recorded his first shutout of the season in a 6-0 victory over the Arizona Coyotes.

Rask, who surrendered 19 goals as the Bruins went 0-3-1 in their first four home games, had a relatively easy night in goal as Boston won their second straight.

Sabres 4, Flyers 3 (overtime)

For the first time in three seasons, the Buffalo Sabres have won three or more games in October thanks to a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

Zemgus Girgensons potted the game-winner in the 3-on-3 extra session on a breakaway.

Tyler Ennis, Jamie McGinn and Jake McCabe also scored for the Sabres (3-6-0), who got their first road win of the season.

Wild 4, Oilers 3

Trailing in the third period, the Minnesota Wild got two goals just 43 seconds apart, rallying to beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Tuesday and remain perfect at home.

Blues 2, Lightning 0

Jake Allen stopped all 26 Tampa Bay shots to win a goalie battle with good friend and former minor league team mate Ben Bishop as the St. Louis Blues earned a 2-0 win over the Lightning.

Tampa Bay were shut out for the second time in as many games, with the result spoiling the homecoming of Bishop, a St. Louis native. The Lightning lost 1-0 in overtime in Chicago on Saturday.

Stars 4, Ducks 3

Antoine Roussel scored off a rebound with 1:28 remaining, and the Dallas Stars defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 at American Airlines Center.

Anaheim led 3-0 after a period before Dallas responded in the second to make it 3-3 after 40 minutes.

Roussel's goal, his first of the season, came after Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen denied an initial shot by Stars center Vernon Fiddler. Roussel was waiting at the near post to pounce, and he poked the puck into the back of the net. (Compiled by Peter Rutherford)
