- James J. Mitchey, 74, of Atlanta passed away at his home on
Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Sunday, August 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at
the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, August
31, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Atlanta

Obituary
Atlanta- James J. Mitchey, 74, of Atlanta passed
away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home
surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday,
August 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Atlanta with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible
offciaitning.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Quiram Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta.
Military Rites will be accorded by teh Atlanta
American Legion Post # 341.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the
services.
James John Mitchey was born on July 29, 1941 in
Ottawa, Illinois the son of John and Irene "Sally"
Kalman Mitchey. He was united in marriage to Sandra
Bokus on October 17, 1964. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Kevin James
(Vanessa) Mitchey, Suzanne Marie (Michael) Glowicki.
One sister: Carole Colboth. Six Grandchildren: Erik
John (Chayla) Mitchey, Matthew James (Alex Demattia)
Mitchey, Joshua Ryan Mitchey, Airman 1st Class
Dillon Michael Glowicki, Emily Elizabeth Glowicki,
Ally Jane Mitchey. Two Great grandchildren: Hadleih
Rose Mitchey and Levi JamesMitchey. Linda MItchey,
mother of three of his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Mitchey served in the United States Air Force.
He retired from Crete carriers and Central Illinois
Truck.
He was a musician playing in various bands including
the Air Force Band for over 30 years. He enjoyed
playing the Claranet and Alto Tenor Saxaphone.
Memorials may be made to the Community cancer Center
or to his family.
