[September 03, 2015]  PEORIA - Businesses, municipal governments, and other units of local government in Logan County are invited to take advantage of a free workshop on All-Hazard Preparedness that will be held on Thursday, September 10th at the Peoria Gateway Building, 200 Northeast Water Street, Peoria.

The workshop begins at 2:30 p.m. and is an opportunity for attendees to learn how to prepare for disasters or other emergency situations, network with other organizations to strengthen preparedness contacts, and become aware of mitigation techniques designed to reduce the impact of an emergency or disaster.

The free All-Hazards Preparedness workshop is made available to businesses and governments in Logan County as a result of Logan County’s membership in the five-county Greater Peoria Economic Development Council (GPEDC). The other counties in the GPEDC include: Peoria, Woodford, Tazewell, and Mason.

The Midwest is well known for its storms, floods, and tornadoes. Businesses and units of municipal and local governments can reduce the impact of hazardous situations on their company or governmental body at the All Hazard Preparedness workshop.

This informative and hands-on workshop is an opportunity to learn about hazards and mitigation techniques, receive a ready to use template for businesses and governments, and connect with other businesses and governmental officials to strengthen Logan County’s overall disaster resiliency.
