[September 03, 2015]  ARMINGTON - Nathaniel H. Ewing, 81, of Bloomington passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 5:35 p.m. at his home.

Visitation: Friday, September 4, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Service: Friday, September 4, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home

Funeral home: Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Nathaniel H. Ewing, Sr., of Armington, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Bickford House in Bloomington.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Pastor Mike Abel will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Burial will be in the McLean Cemetery.

Nathaniel H. Ewing was born July 1, 1934, in Lincoln, the son of Samuel and Harriet Irish Ewing. He married Donna Cook on December 24, 1954, in Atlanta. She survives.

Mr. Ewing is survived by his wife; their children; Nathaniel "Nate" Ewing, Jr. of Bloomington, and Cindy Ewing of Nashville, TN,  and one brother; Thomas (Connie) Ewing of Pontiac.

Funeral Director

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Ewing was a graduate of Atlanta Community High School. He served in the U.S Army from 1954 - 1956. He spent his life farming in the McLean and Atlanta area. Nate had also owned Nate's Welding Shop in Armington, worked for Pabst Brewing in Peoria Heights and retired from Nestle-Beich in Bloomington. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in rural McLean, the Atlanta Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, the Tazewell County Farm Bureau, and the International Association of Machinists.

Memorials may be made to Armington Fire and Rescue Departments.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
