Courthouse Foundation to host quilt show during the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival

[September 04, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - There will be a Quilt Show at the Mount Pulaski Courthouse on Friday, September 11, from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival

The courthouse will close during the Festival Parade on Saturday at 1 p.m., and reopen immediately after the parade.

Visitors to the show will be invited to vote for their favorite quilt. First, second and third cash prizes will be given to the top vote getters by the Mt. Pulaski Courthouse Foundation. There are new quilts and older quilts, some from the late 1800's and early 1900's, the 1930's and 1940's, and more.

Patterns on display will include; Double Wedding Ring, Christmas Wreath, Hunter’s Star, Log Cabin, Lacey Fan, Official Quilt Block for the State of Illinois, Santas, Cross-Stitched Flowers, Bride’s Album, Memories, Friendship Quilt, Lone Star, and Around the World, to name a few.

The quilt show is just one of many events going on during the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival. The Mount Pulaski Courthouse Foundation would like to encourage everyone to come to Mount Pulaski on September 11th and 12th.

Normal touring hours for the courthouse are Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Mount Pulaski Courthouse is a State Historic Site, supported by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. It is staffed by one part-time site manager and several volunteers from the Mount Pulaski community.
