Mets 8, Nationals 5
Yoenis Cespedes had two doubles, a homer, two runs and two RBIs as
the New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals to extend their lead
to five games in the National League East.
Cespedes had a two-out RBI double off Matt Thornton to highlight a
three-run seventh as the Mets took an 8-5 lead.

Reds 3, Pirates 1
Anthony DeSclafani pitched six shutout innings as the Cincinnati
Reds took advantage of a season-high four Pittsburgh errors in a 3-1
victory against the Pirates.
DeSclafani (8-10) finished with one run allowed in 7-1/3 innings
with no walks and six strikeouts.
The Pirates (81-55) arrived at their hotel in Cincinnati around 2
a.m. EST on Monday after playing St. Louis, then proceeded to commit
four errors in the game.

Tigers 5, Rays 4
Rajai Davis hit two homers, including a go-ahead solo blast in the
seventh as the Detroit Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4.
The Tigers' left fielder also hit a two-run shot in the third while
Detroit catcher James McCann supplied three hits, including a
two-run homer.
Al Alburquerque (4-1) pitched an inning of scoreless relief to
collect the victory for the Tigers.

Brewers 9, Marlins 1
Right-hander Zach Davies recorded his first major-league victory in
leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-1 victory over the Miami
Marlins.
Brewers third baseman Hernan Perez had three hits and three RBIs,
catcher Jonathan Lucroy also had three hits while left fielder Khris
Davis slugged his 18th homer of the season.

Yankees 8, Orioles 6
Rookie first baseman Greg Bird hit a tiebreaking three-run home run
in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the New York Yankees to
an 8-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Red Sox 11, Blue Jays 4
Jackie Bradley Jr. had four hits, including a home run, and drove in
four runs, while right-hander Rick Porcello pitched 7-1/3 strong
innings to power the Boston Red Sox to an 11-4 pounding of the
first-place Toronto Blue Jays.
The loss cut the Blue Jays' lead over the victorious New York
Yankees (77-59) in the AL East to a half-game.

Indians 3, White Sox 2
Trevor Bauer turned a rough start into a strong outing in the
Cleveland Indians' 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
After walking five hitters in the first two innings, including four
in Chicago's two-run second, Bauer allowed just two hits in seven
innings and struck out six to earn the win.
Bryan Shaw and Cody Allen each threw an inning of scoreless relief,
with Allen pitching the ninth for his 29th save.

Cubs 9, Cardinals 0
Dexter Fowler lined a leadoff homer to start a 12-hit explosion,
then added a two-run double an inning later as the Chicago Cubs
routed St. Louis.
The Cubs (79-57) knocked out Cardinals starter Lance Lynn (11-9)
before the third inning was over, raking him for seven hits and six
runs in 2-1/3 innings.

Rockies 6, Padres 4
Charlie Blackmon and DJ LeMahieu each had two hits and scored two
runs while starter Kyle Kendrick hit his first major-league homer as
the Colorado Rockies beat the San Diego Padres.

Blackmon and LeMahieu were the catalyst as the Rockies scored twice
in the first and three times in the third to build a 5-2 lead.
Kendrick homered in the fourth to make it 6-2.

Diamondbacks 6, Giants 1
Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Phil Gosselin hit a three-run
homer while left-hander Patrick Corbin pitched six scoreless innings
in the Diamondbacks' 6-1 victory over the slumping San Francisco
Giants.
Corbin (5-3), who missed the 2104 season after undergoing Tommy John
surgery, gave up six hits, struck out five and did not walk a
batter.

A's 10, Astros 9
Catcher Josh Phegley and first baseman Mark Canha hit home runs to
power the Oakland A's to a 10-9 victory over the Houston Astros.
The last-place A's, who trail first-place Houston by 16 games in the
American League West, snapped their five-game losing streak.

Braves 7, Phillies 2
Williams Perez pitched seven strong innings while rookie third
baseman Hector Olivera homered and drove in four runs as the Atlanta
Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies to snap a 12-game losing
streak.
First baseman Freddie Freeman added a two-run homer for the Braves,
who ended their longest skid since they lost 17 successive games in
1977.

Rangers 3, Mariners 0
Yovani Gallardo threw 5-1/3 shutout innings as the Texas Rangers
continued to push their way toward the top of the American League
West with a 3-0 win over the Seattle Mariners.
Texas (72-64) moved to within two games of the division-leading
Houston Astros, who lost 10-9 to the Oakland A's.
Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre's bases-loaded single put Texas
ahead 2-0 in the top of the sixth before two wild pitches by Seattle
reliever Rob Rasmussen in the seventh allowed Rangers second baseman
Rougned Odor to score the third.

Twins 6, Royals 2
Aaron Hicks opened the game with a home run while Tommy Milone
stymied the Royals on six hits and two runs over seven innings as
the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals.
Milone (8-4) walked one and struck out four.
Shortstop Eduardo Escobar drove in three of the Twins' runs.

Dodgers 7, Angels 5
Zack Greinke (16-3) gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings,
while the Dodgers' offense teed off for 16 hits and came away with a
7-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
The Dodgers moved 8-1/2 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in
the National League West, their biggest lead of the season.
