The public is invited to Camp Griesheim's Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, September 15 at 5 p.m. in their main facility in Atlanta, Illinois.  Refreshments and fellowship will follow the meeting.

St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln is sponsoring a Christian Carnival on Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The activities will be on the church's parking lot, at the corner of Eighth and Maple streets.

The public is invited. All ages are welcome to join in the games, snacks, songs, stories and more fun -- and win prizes, too -- all for free.

For answers to questions about the event, call the church office, 732-6957.

The carnival is sponsored by the St. John Christian Education Ministry.

WHO: Open to everyone
DETAILS: Logan County Love will once again provide a free meal to anyone wishing to join. If you are interested, please stop by and introduce yourself as the group would love to see everyone in the community. Come hungry and leave fulfilled. For this month, the meal will include chicken and noodles. If you are unable to drive but would like a meal, call the church, 217-732-6957, between 5 and 6 pm.

LWML Fall Rally at
 at Delavan Christ Lutheran Church

September 16

Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.

with opening devotions at 9:30 a.m. by

Pastor Justin Schmidt.

“Go Ye” - Send Me is the theme for this year’s Lincoln Zone Fall Rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), Central Illinois District. The rally will be held on Wednesday, September 16 at Christ Lutheran Church, Delavan. Serving as hosts this year are the ladies of Christ Lutheran Church, Delavan and also the ladies of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, San Jose.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with opening devotions at 9:30 a.m. by Pastor Justin Schmidt.

The keynote speaker for the rally will be Karen Ruhlig of Champaign, Illinois. Karen was part of a short-term mission team for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod who went to Koszalin, Poland this summer to teach children about their Savior, Jesus. Karen has served the LWML in many aspects. Besides serving at the society and zone levels, Karen has served as President for the Central Illinois District, which also included serving on the national LWML Board of Directors. She also served on the national level during her 2 terms on the Editors’ Resources Committee.

Lincoln Zone President, Alice Meeker, will conduct the business meeting. A Christian Life program based on the theme, “Go Ye” – Send Me, will also be presented during the day. The ingathering will be monetary donations for the victims of the recent tornado which went through Delavan.

The LWML is an auxiliary of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod which proclaims the saving faith of Jesus Christ throughout the United States and the world. The LWML, Central Illinois District is currently funding several projects through their mites, including: Student aid for church workers, Sound upgrades & Christian materials for the deaf ministry in Jacksonville, and a fellowship building for Hispanic outreach at Christo Rey Lutheran Church in East Moline.

Nationally funded mite projects include: Clean water & evangelism ministry in Africa, Disaster response trailers, and Cancer care packages.
