			ATLANTA
			- The Atlanta Historic Commission has completed an update to its
publication titled, “Preserving Community History – A Guide to the
Historic Landmarks and National Register Properties of Atlanta,
			Illinois”.

First published in 2010, the Guide presents
information and research regarding historic buildings, homes, and
sites in Atlanta that have been designated as Landmarks by the
Atlanta Historic Commission. To date, the Commission has designated
over a dozen such properties/sites in Atlanta.

Partial funding for the project came from an Atlanta Betterment
Grant provided by the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, serving
DeWitt, Logan, and McLean Counties. The publication was also
financed in part with federal funds from the Department of the
Interior, administered by the Illinois Historical Preservation
Agency, which receives federal financial assistance for the
identification and protection of historic properties.
