[to top of second column]

"With 6 players out today with the flu and vacation, I was extremely proud of how our 5th and 6th graders stepped in and filled the gaps," said Coach Jeff Nelson.

"A few players had to play a position they hadn't played all year, or ever in some cases, and every one of them did an outstanding job. Especially 5th grader Jacob Langley! Jacob stepped in and caught the first 4 innings and did a great job.

"Offensively, Jacob came up huge with a bases loaded, 2-out, 2-run double in the 3rd inning giving us a 4-1 lead. His hit came after an intentional walk to Joe Dalpoas to load the bases. Jacob lined the ball over the center fielder's head. All-in-all, it was a very good day for the boys and it was great getting back in to the winning column again."

Record: 9-3

Next game Thursday September 10 at Midwest Central - 4:00pm. Last Regular Season Game.
