[September 10, 2015]  Sept 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Former basketball star Rex Chapman, who pleaded guilty Friday to shoplifting items from an Apple Store in Scottsdale, Ariz., was sentenced to probation, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

As part of the sentencing, Chapman agreed to pay back $15,128.30 to the store, half immediately and the other half by the end of his probation, and must serve 750 hours of community service.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed guard Marcelo Huertas to a contract Wednesday.

Before joining the Lakers, Huertas spent the previous four seasons (2011-15) with Spanish power FC Barcelona, where he was a key piece on their 2011-12 and 2013-14 Spanish National Championship and 2013 Spanish National Cup-winning teams.

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed center Sasha Kaun to a contract Wednesday.

The 6-foot-11, 250-pound Kaun spent the last six seasons with CSKA Moscow. He appeared in 142 games (94 starts) with averages of 7.6 points on .702 shooting from the field and 3.6 rebounds.

Point guard Kendall Marshall, who played with three NBA teams the past three seasons, signed with Philadelphia on Wednesday, the 76ers announced.

Marshall, 24, had a stint with the 76ers' NBA Development League team in 2013-14, averaging 19 points and 10 assists in seven games with the Delaware 87ers. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
