Local Blues/Soul artist heads to Nashville to record new album

[September 10, 2015]  LINCOLN - Blues/soul music artist, Erisa Rei, from Lincoln, is heading to Nashville, TN next week to record her new album with a tentative release in Spring 2016. The album will be produced by Paul Buono, of Franklin, TN, and will feature not only professional musicians from the Nashville area, but also Erik Ferguson, a guitar player raised in Lincoln.

The album will be recorded at Fry Pharmacy Studios in Nashville, and will be done “old-school” on analog tape, as many music artists did before the digital age.

Her previous album releases have charted well on several state, national, and international roots music charts. Her most recent full-length release, “Black Ball” charted #2 nationally on the Roots Music Report’s Roots Rock charts in 2012. Ten months after the release of that album, Erisa Rei signed with the label, Creative & Dreams, which is headed by CEO, Fred Cannon, and President, Rose Drake. Cannon and Drake both have a rich history in the music business, working with music greats such as Queen, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Stevie Wonder.

Cannon and Drake have both been influential in helping develop Erisa Rei’s sound and hone her vocal talent. Pairing her with label producer, Paul Buono, was a good choice made by them, and helped Rei learn a lot about the business. From this 4 –year process came the sound that Rei likes to call “homegrown blues” and “rural soul”. Combining the feel of blues music with her soulful voice, as well as a little pinch of her “raised in the country” roots, Rei has found herself musically. Her trip to Nashville will put that “homegrown blues” sound down on an album that will explore her roots and touch on her life experiences.

With the release and promotion of this next project, Erisa Rei plans on touring extensively, both in the United States and internationally. A tour of Ireland and the UK is already in the works for February 2016. She also plans on a few local centrail Ill. gigs, including a big album release party.
