[September 10, 2015]  LINCOLN - On Wednesday night, the Lincoln College Volleyball team traveled to Parkland College for their first MWAC and Region 24 match of the year.

The Lady Lynx had their work cut out for them as Parkland (10-0) came into the match as the #1 ranked team in NJCAA DII rankings. Lincoln was unable to slow down Parkland much at all and the Cobras rolled to a three set victory by scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-21. LC falls to 3-4 on the season.

LC Stats:

Kenzie Cooper 5 kills, 4 digs
Gina Moore 2 kills, 5 digs
Cassie Jennings 9 set assists
Ashley Robinson 3 points, 4 set assists
Peyton Jones 2 kills, 3 blocks
Brighton Robbins 5 digs

LC Coach Mark Tippett:  "I am certain that we are capable of playing better than we did tonight. Parkland's serving kept our passers off balance and without a consistent pass to work with, we were unable to create any offense. Defensively, we were slow to react, but as the match went on we did seem to step up our effort which is promising. Hopefully we can learn from this experinece and improve our performance when we see them again in mid-October."

Lincoln comes home to start a four-match home stand Friday evening as they host Rend Lake College in a 6:30 match. On Saturday, LC will host a three team triangular set of matches with the LAdy Lynx playing at 11:00 am against Lincoln Trail and at 3:00 pm against St. Ambrose JV.
