a-pooch” puppy kissing booth and many other fun activities to raise
money for the Humane Society of Logan County.
The city of Lincoln has declared the 3rd week in September and the
week of Woofstock as “Pet Awarness” week.
Dog contests are: talent competition, owner look-a-like, and best
costume. Animal contests begin at 1 p.m. and will conclude at
approximately 3:30p.m. All individuals wishing to enter their animal
in a contest are urged to be at the gazebo at Latham Park at 12:45
p.m. Prizes for each contest will be presented immediately after the
event.
There will also be events for kids including a hula-hoop contest and
a push-up contest. Prizes for these events will be at 3:30 p.m.
Kids will also be able to enjoy other games and activities promoting
fitness and fun. Those events run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Musical entertainment will include Emily Johnson at 11 a.m., at
12:15 p.m. Lesleigh Bennett, 2:15 p.m. Brother-Sister Band, and at 4
p.m. Mario Canon.
“Woofstock” is a fun-filled, family friendly event for both the pet
and pet lover to spend a day together and raise money for the local
Humane Society. Pet lovers can come with their leashed pet to peruse
area businesses and vendors. The theme is “Summer of ‘69” and many
will be dressed in their throw-back, tie-dyed attire.
The mission statement of the Logan County Humane Society is to
prevent the cruelty, abuse, and neglect of animals, promote the
proper placement of animals through adoption, work toward the
solution of pet overpopulation, educate the public about the humane
treatment of animals, and aid in the return of lost animals to their
owners.

Anytime Fitness Lincoln, which is a state of the art 24/7 facility, is hosting
the event. Owner Josh Slightom expressed his excitement regarding hosting the
event for the fourth year in a row: “We are so amazed at the reception from the
community towards Woofstock. This really proves that philanthropy and passion
for animals is alive in and around Lincoln. We are honored to be able to help
the Humane Society of Logan County and feel that it is not only our part to keep
the humans healthy in Logan County, but also to work towards the betterment of
its animals. Thank you to all supporters and sponsors. Without them, none of
this would be possible.”
Bring your family and your furry friend to Latham Park on Saturday September
19th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and join us for smiles, wagging tails, and the good
feeling of supporting a great local organization- the Humane Society of Logan
County.
All proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society of Logan County.
