The regular seasonal flu vaccine, high dose flu vaccine (for those
over 65) and flu mist (for those ages 2-49 years) is now available.
Currently, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Alliance, Humana,
HFN, Medicare, Medicaid, Molina and Illinois Health Connect are in
network. United Health Care, Tri-Care, Aetna, Coventry, Health Link,
Meridian and Land of Lincoln are accepted, but are out of network at
this time and are scheduled to be in network in the near future. You
must bring your insurance card to receive a vaccine or cash pay will
be required.
Residents who are 65 and older now have a choice of the regular
seasonal flu vaccine or the high dose flu vaccine which is $50.00.
The LCDPH recommends talking with your doctor about which type is
best for you. The regular seasonal flu vaccine is also available and
it carries a $35 charge. FluMist is for those ages 2-49 and is
inhaled. It is $41.

Without a state budget, state health grants are on hold which has forced many
health departments state-wide to cut back hours and services. Despite these
challenging times, the LCDPH will continue to forge ahead to continue to promote
public health, fight disease, and provide the community with the needed services
to stay healthy. The LCDPH, as always, appreciates the support of the community
and encourages the citizens of Logan County to continue to make the health
department (LCDPH) their public health home of choice.
If you have questions regarding vaccines, the clinic and other services offered
at LCDPH, feel free to contact us at 217-735-2317.
