[September 26, 2015]  Sept 25 (The Sports Xchange) - The Chicago Blackhawks assigned five players to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Forward Mike Liambas and defensemen Mathieu Brisebois, Dillon Fournier, Dennis Roberston and Nolan Valleau were sent to the AHL club.

In addition, the Blackhawks released forwards Daniel Ciampini, Jake Dowell and Dane Walters and defensemen Sam Jardine and Nick Mattson from training camp.

The St. Louis Blues signed defenseman Vince Dunn to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Dunn was the Blues' first pick (56th overall) in the 2015 NHL draft.

Dunn, 18, dressed in 68 regular-season games with the Niagara IceDogs last season, tying for fourth on the team and sixth among all Ontario Hockey League defensemen with 56 points (18 goals, 38 assists).

The Boston Bruins signed defenseman Brandon Carlo to an entry-level contract.

Carlo, 18, has appeared in two preseason games for Boston, recording a goal against the New York Rangers on Thursday night at TD Garden.

The New York Rangers trimmed their training camp roster by five players.

Brett Bellemore, Marek Hrivik, Tommy Hughes, Jeff Malcolm and Adam Tambellini were assigned to training camp for the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The Calgary Flames assigned seven players to their AHL affiliate and one to a Western Hockey League squad.

Those sent to Stockton Heat of the AHL were right winger Austin Carroll, center Mitchell Heard, defenseman Aaron Johnson, left winger Ryan Lomberg, right winger Louick Marcotte, goaltender Kent Simpson and right winger Hunter Smith.

The Flames assigned goaltender Nick Schneider to Medicine Hat of the WHL.

The Arizona Coyotes assigned four players to Springfield of the AHL.

Left winger Michael Bunting, defenseman Alex Grant, center Dustin Jeffrey and right winger Eric Selleck were assigned to the team's AHL affiliate.

The Coyotes also assigned center Ryan MacInnis (Kitchener, OHL) and defenseman Dysin Mayo (Edmonton, WHL) to their junior teams.
