The Bruins won for only the second time in their last eight games
as they maintained a one-point lead over the Detroit Red Wings in
the playoff battle with four games remaining in the regular season.
Loui Eriksson, Matt Beleskey, Frank Vatrano and Patrice Bergeron
also scored for the Bruins while
Robert Bortuzzo, Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk, Jaden Schwartz
and Paul Stastny scored for the Blues.
Red Wings 3, Wild 2
DETROIT -- Riley Sheahan had a goal and an assist and Detroit held
on for a desperately needed victory against Minnesota at Joe Louis
Arena.
The Red Wings moved within a point of Boston for third place in the
Atlantic Division -- and tied the Philadelphia Flyers, who have two
games in hand, for the second wild card into the playoffs from the
Eastern Conference.
Dylan Larkin and Tomas Tatar also scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard
made 20 saves.
Jonas Brodin and Mikael Granlund scored for Minnesota. Zach Parise
and Ryan Suter had two assists apiece and Devan Dubnyk made 26
saves.
Blackhawks 5, Jets 4 (OT)
WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Brent Seabrook scored at 1:02 of overtime to
lift Chicago over Winnipeg.
Artemi Panarin scored a pair of goals, while Patrick Kane and
Brandon Mashinter also added goals for the Blackhawks. Blake
Wheeler scored twice and added an assist, Dustin Byfuglien scored
his 18th goal and had two helpers, and Nic Petan netted his second
of the year. Mark Scheifele also had two assists for the Jets.

Capitals 4, Avalanche 2
DENVER -- Alex Ovechkin had a goal, Braden Holtby made 18 saves and
playoff-bound Washington dealt a big blow to the postseason hopes of
Colorado.
Jason Chimera, T.J. Oshie and Jay Beagle also scored for the
Capitals, who were sharp as they tune up for the playoffs.
Semyon Varlamov had 43 saves and Jarome Iginla and Gabriel Landeskog
scored for the Avalanche, which missed a chance to gain on Minnesota
for the last wild card in the Western Conference.
Canucks 3, Ducks 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Dan Hamhuis and Emerson Etem scored within three
minutes of each other late in the third period as Vancouver rallied
for a win over Anaheim at the Honda Center.
Jacob Markstrom stopped 20 shots in the third period and finished
with 34 saves as the Canucks won their second consecutive game after
a nine-game losing streak. Bo Horvat contributed a goal.
Josh Manson and Nate Thompson scored for the Ducks, who remain one
point behind the first-place Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific
Division. John Gibson made 25 saves
