RG3 promised to bring a starter's mindset to Cleveland after his
four-year stint with the Washington Redskins ended in March.
"I'm not trying to let any baggage hold me down, but I have a
massive chip on my shoulder," said Griffin, who signed a two-year
deal with the Browns worth $15 million.
The 26-year-old Griffin, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL
Draft by the Redskins, was released before his fifth-year option hit
the books at more than $15 million.
Griffin was replaced as the starting quarterback in Washington
before the 2015 season by Kirk Cousins, who was retained in March
with the Redskins' franchise tag.
Griffin joins a franchise with head coach Hue Jackson, executive
vice president of football operations Sashi Brown and chief strategy
officer Paul DePodesta entering their first year together.
The Browns' long-standing struggles include 24 starting quarterbacks
since 1999.
"I know the history, a little bit, of Cleveland," Griffin said. "And
guys sometimes don't want to come here. I wanted to come here."

The Denver Broncos agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent
defensive end Jared Crick on a two-year contract.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Crick is a fifth-year player who appeared in
63 regular-season games during his first four NFL seasons with the
Houston Texans. He was selected by the Texans in the fourth round of
the 2012 NFL Draft out of Nebraska.
Crick, 26, has recorded 146 career tackles, 5.5 sacks, 13 passes
defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Jeremiah George signed his exclusive
rights contract.
The 5-11, 234-pound George joined Tampa Bay last season after
spending his rookie year with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2014). He
was claimed off waivers from Jacksonville.
In his career, George has played in 14 games, recording four
tackles, one tackle for loss and nine special teams tackles. He also
blocked a punt against the Chicago Bears last season, setting up a
touchdown.

In howling crosswinds in the 30-40 mph range, Memphis quarterback
Paxton Lynch was on point and impressed during his pro day.
The strong gusts were no match for Lynch's rocket arm strength as he
showed off his power velocity to all levels of the field from
flat-outs to deep posts.
The Memphis wide receivers didn't do him many favors with several
drops, but for the most part Lynch's passes were accurate and gave
his targets a chance to make plays.
There were 26 teams on-hand for the workout, including San Diego
Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Wisenhunt, Buffalo Bills
offensive coordinator Greg Roman and several quarterbacks coaches
from around the league. (Editing by Larry Fine) ))
