Obituary
Betty J. Horn, 90, of Lincoln passed away at her
home on April 1, 2016.
Betty was born February 6, 1926 in Broadwell, the
daughter of George and Anna (McDonald) Gieseke. She
married Howard “Chris” Horn in September of 1950. He
has since preceded her in death in March of 1978.
Betty is survived by her brother, Lloyd (Emogene)
Gieseke; her sister, Norma Duckett; her
granddaughter, Shanon Whitson; and her
great-grandchildren, Jordan Pearson and Kahle
Scribner. Betty is preceded in death by her husband,
her parents, her son Steven Howard Horn, and her
sisters, Grace Rapp and Georgeann Horn.
Betty enjoyed bowling, she was a member of many
bowling leagues. She loved spending time with her
grandchildren and her great-grandsons; she
especially enjoyed hosting holidays for her family.
Betty worked for many years as a Logan County
Bailiff, and for the Lake Fork Grain Co. she also
worked part time for many years at Dairy Queen,
until October of 2015. |
A private family graveside service will be held at a
later date. Due to the loss of her sister Georgeann,
memorial donations may be made in Betty’s name to
the ALS Association.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
