 She was born April 20, 1921 in Chicago . She married Everett
Bowman Johnson on November 21, 1940. He died on January 31, 1971.
Their children are Christel Huff, Lincoln, IL, Creigh (Linda)
Johnson, Canon City, CO. and Curtis(Debra) Johnson, Normal, IL. On
April 1, 1977 she married Edward A. Bayer and the family grew with
the addition of Ed’s adult children – Bonnie Bayer (Gabe) Vuolo,
Newland, NC, Ted (Mary)Bayer, , El Cerrito, CA, Mary Ann Bayer (Pat)
Johnson, Leesburg, FL, and Edie Bayer, Hayward, CA. Edward Bayer
died February 23, 1997. Lorraine has numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.

She worked at Stewart-Warner during World War II, she sold Better
Brushes at parties in the 40’s & 50’s, and after moving back to
Lincoln in 1961, began working at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital
in 1963 in the business office. She retired from ALMH in October
1983. She was an active member in Eastern Star in Chicago and
Lincoln and served as Worthy Matron. She is a member of First United
Methodist Church in Lincoln.
