In Saturday’s games, they started the season with a big 17-2 win
at Hopedale.
Drew Hayes threw three strong innings to pick up the win allowing
only two hits and a walk. Hayes also led the way with a pair of
hits. After scoring in each of the first two innings, the Heat broke
it open in the third scoring 14 runs, highlighted by doubles from
Parker Graue and Warren Tomczak and a triple from Hayes. Each Heat
player scored in the inning.
Hopedale came back strong and took the nightcap 20-4 despite Lincoln
scoring the first three runs and getting two more hits from Graue as
well as hits from Tomczak and Aaron Roede. Graue also scored twice,
while Jude Toft and Brady Miller plated the other runs.
The Heat left Rochester with a pair of 6 run victories on Sunday,
taking the first game 13-7 and the second game 18-12.
Deegan Aeilts set the tone early with a bases-clearing triple off
the left field fence. Hayes added three hits of his own with Aeilts
and Tomczak ending with a pair of hits each in support of winning
pitcher Jude Toft. Miller, Graue, Dyllan Ferguson, and Mason Fisher
also had base hits in the opener.

Parker Graue got the win on the mound in the second game and also
helped bring the team to the victory with a pair of hits. Tomczak
and Kyle Gellner also had two hits apiece with Toft and Tate
Johnston each getting a hit. Miller, Hayes, Aeilts, Tomczak, Roede,
Ferguson, and Kyle Koehler scored twice each before Hayes came in to
nail down the win, getting the final three outs.
The Heat will return to action in a home doubleheader May 3 against
Olympia.
