[April 29, 2016]  EMDEN - Glenn Eldon Cross ,89, passed away at 1:40 P.M. on April 26, 2016 at Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday May 2, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden

Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday May 2, at the church.

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Lincoln   

Obituary

EMDEN - Glenn Eldon Cross ,89, passed away at 1:40 P.M. on April 26, 2016 at Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Glenn was born on August 19, 1926 in Lincoln, son of John C. and Marie Kasebier Cross. He was united in marriage to Betty Ann Whittaker on June 27, 1948 in Emden. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2015.

Surviving Glenn are his sons: John L. (Jayne) Cross of Emden, and Joel (Kathy) Cross of New Berlin; five grandchildren: Janna (Brett) Conrady, Jaci (Shaun) Manning, Jillyn Cross, JoAnn Cross, and Jason Cross; great grandchildren: Ryder and Brantley Conrady and Carson and Cruz Manning. He was preceded in death by one brother James Russell Cross.

Glenn was a retired farmer, and owned and operated Glenn Cross Feed Store. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Brotherhood of the church, and a member of Emden Park district for 32 years. He was also a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau.

Services for Glenn will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday May 2, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden, with Rev. John Schurter and Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. (hour and a half prior to service). Burial at Hartsburg Union Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be given in Glenn’s name to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Emden Historical Society. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
