Unit 4: Silver Lexus Passenger Car
Unit 5: Silver Chevrolet Pickup Truck
Unit 6: White Buick Passenger Car
 DRIVER:
Unit 1: 24 year Old Male, Purcell, MO
Unit 2: 40 Year Old Male, Chicago, IL
Unit 3: 35 Year Old Female, Lansing, IL
Unit 4: 48 Year Old Male, Shorewood, IL
Unit 5: 43 Year Old Male, Manhattan, IL
Unit 6: 71 Year Old Male, Ranson, IL
PRELIMINARY: Unit #1 was traveling on I-55 Northbound in the
vicinity of mile post 138 when unit 1 struck unit 2, which struck
unit’s 3, 4, 5, and 6. Units 1 through 5 had extensive damage,
blocked all Northbound lanes of traffic, and had to be towed from
the scene. Unit 6 was able to be driven from the scene. 2 patients
were air lifted by helicopter to an area hospital. 2 children
passengers of unit 2 were pronounced deceased on scene. The
northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours.
