Five
suspects arrested in Lincoln on charges of Residential Burglary and
drug possession

LINCOLN
- On Thursday, July 28, 2016, at approximately 5:38 AM the Lincoln
Police Department was requested to the 1200 Block of North Kankakee
St in reference to a residential burglary where the suspect stole
several electronic items from the residence. Lincoln Police Officers
were able to determine the identity of the suspect through witness
statements and interviews and subsequently arrested Chad Tungate
(33), 1114 N Kankakee St, Lincoln, for residential Burglary, a Class
1 felony.

During the course of the investigation the Lincoln Police Department
learned that the stolen property was taken to a residence at 1417 Pekin
St, Lincoln, in exchange for a controlled substance. Lincoln Police
Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and located the
stolen property, less than 5grams of crack-cocaine, and approximately
$500 in cash at the residence. Officers arrested the following people
living at the residence:
Elizabeth Coatney (34)
Earnest Brooms (27)
Sean Follis (46)
Crystal Helton-Edwards (46)
Follis and Helton-Edwards was arrested for possession of controlled
substance (Class 4 Felony). Brooms and Coatney were arrested for
possession of controlled substance (Class 4 Felony) and possession of
stolen property (Class 3 Felony).

This investigation is still open and in progress by the Lincoln Police
Department. The arrest charges are merely allegations, and the defendants are
presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. All reports will be forwarded
to the Logan County State’s Attorney for review.
