Aug 1 (The Sports Xchange) - The
Buffalo Bills signed free agent running back Reggie Bush on Monday
to add experience to their backfield.
Bush received an incentive-laden one-year deal after he visited with
the team and passed his physical, a source told NFL Media's Ian
Rapoport.
Buffalo also signed wide receiver Kain Colter to a deal on Monday.
Colter entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Minnesota and
now joins the Bills, who released fellow wideout Davonte Allen and
kicker Marshall Morgan.
Bush is expected to practice with the team at training camp on
Tuesday in Pittsford, N.Y.
Former New York Giants and two-time Super Bowl winning head coach
Tom Coughlin has been named senior advisor to football operations,
the NFL announced.
The league said Coughlin will work with NFL executive vice president
of football operations Troy Vincent on a variety of issues to
support and improve the game.

San Diego Chargers veteran wide receiver Stevie Johnson is facing
surgery after suffering a torn meniscus in Sunday's practice,
according to multiple reports.
It is uncertain whether the surgery will effectively end Johnson's
season.
- - -
Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller and wide receiver Eddie Royal
have been diagnosed with concussions and will be required to go
through the league's mandated protocol before returning to training
camp, ESPN.com reported.
- - -
Tre Mason was excused from organized team activities and was a
no-show at the start of training camp. Los Angeles Rams head coach
Jeff Fisher is ready to sound the alarm.
Mason was officially placed on the Reserve/Did Not Report list when
the Rams began training camp last week and was previously excused
from OTAs for what the team labeled "personal reasons."
Per reports, Mason had at least five police incidents in the
offseason, a span of four months. His family encouraged Mason to
consider treatment.
- - -
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown was placed in the
league's concussion protocol.
Brown absorbed a big hit from safety Tony Jefferson during a
two-minute drill in Sunday's practice and hit his head on the turf,
coach Bruce Arians told reporters. The 26-year-old Brown was able to
walk off the field under the watch of a trainer.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is skeptical of the new
touchback rule working the way the NFL intended in an attempt to cut
down on injuries during kickoffs.
In the March league meetings, the NFL adopted on a one-year trial
basis to move touchbacks after kickoffs to the 25-yard line --
instead of the 20 -- to limit the number of returns.
The idea behind the rule is that receiving teams will be less
inclined to take the ball out of the end zone because of the
improved field position.

The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Jason Neill and offensive
lineman Corey Tucker.
To make room on the roster, the team waived offensive lineman Conor
Boffeli and linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat.
- - -
Linebacker Terrence Plummer re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
Plummer went undrafted out of Central Florida last year and appeared
in three games, recording one tackle, for the Washington Redskins
before being released on Oct. 5. He joined the Vikings' practice
squad Oct. 27, but had his contract terminated Dec. 1.
- - -
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver James Wright came off the
active/physically unable to perform list and was cleared to
practice.
Wright, the Bengals' seventh-round pick out of LSU in 2014, was
placed on injured reserve going into last training camp.
Wright's appearance Monday was his first in a Bengals camp since he
was a rookie in 2014. He was injured on Nov. 30, 2014.

The Detroit Lions removed offensive tackle Corey Robinson from the
physically unable to perform list and signed free agent linebacker
Raphael Kirby.
- - -
The Indianapolis Colts waived-injured safety Andrew Williamson.
Williamson was injured during Sunday's practice and had to be carted
to the locker room. If Williamson clears waivers, he will revert to
the Colts' injured reserve list. (Editing by Andrew Both)
