With backup quarterback Kellen Moore out after suffering a major leg
injury, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly considering free agent
Nick Foles as an option.
The Cowboys also are discussing potential trades, a league source
told ESPN's Ed Werder on Wednesday.

Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott is expected to miss a few
workouts after sustaining a right hamstring injury, Cowboys
executive vice president Stephen Jones said.
Elliott, who was the fourth overall pick of the 2016 draft, suffered
the injury during Tuesday's practice.

Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason, who has been out of touch
with the team for seven months, was admitted to a hospital in late
July after his mother called police in South Florida.
According to a police report obtained by ESPN, Palm Beach County
Sheriff's officers arrived at his mother's house in Lake Charleston,
Fla., after Tina Mason called to report her son was "acting unusual
and making irrational statements."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter told reporters on that
undrafted tight end Cameron Brate is currently atop the team's depth
chart.
The 25-year-old Brate, who had 23 receptions for 288 yards and three
touchdowns in 14 games last season, has elevated past 2014
second-round pick Austin Seferian-Jenkins in the eyes of Koetter.

Quarterback Michael Vick believes he can still compete in the NFL
and is hoping for one final season at age 36.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection has been training four days a week
in Florida with a personal trainer and a quarterbacks coach.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed rookie cornerback Corey Tindal one day
after learning first-round pick William Jackson suffered a torn
pectoral muscle in a recent practice.
Tindal, 24, originally joined the Bengals on May 8 as an undrafted
free agent and was waived on July 20, seven days after he was robbed
and assaulted at gunpoint during a poker game in West Virginia.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann,
adding depth to the line.
The Bucs also waived No. 4 quarterback Dan LeFevour to make room on
the roster.

NFL analyst Tom Jackson will retire after 29 years with ESPN, the
network announced.
Jackson, 65, is expected to work his final assignment with ESPN
alongside host Chris Berman at the Pro Football Hall of Fame
enshrinement this weekend in Canton, Ohio.

The New Orleans Saints activated cornerback Keenan Lewis from the
physically unable to perform list on Wednesday and signed three
players to contracts.
Lewis, who was plagued by hip, sports hernia and knee injuries last
year, underwent three surgeries in the offseason and passed his
physical to return from the PUP list. The 30-year-old took park in a
few 7-on-7 drills during Wednesday's practice.

The Washington Redskins added depth to their offensive line on
Wednesday by signing tackle Isaiah Williams to a contract. The
23-year-old Williams appeared in 45 games in his four seasons at
Akron.

The Denver Broncos are likely to acquire the naming rights for Mile
High Stadium in Denver.
The Sports Authority, which is bankrupt, plans to sell the final
five years of its naming-rights contract to the Broncos, according
to filings made late Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, via the
Denver Post.
The Denver Business Journal reported the Broncos are willing to pay
