Aug 4 (The Sports Xchange) - An
appeals court on Thursday ruled in favor of the NFL and reinstated
the suspension and fine of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian
Peterson.
A three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found
that arbitrator Harold Henderson acted within his authority when he
upheld the league's discipline against Peterson.

The New York Giants signed veteran cornerback Leon Hall to a
one-year contract. The deal will reportedly pay the 31-year-old
close to $2 million.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Hall spent his first nine NFL seasons with
the Cincinnati Bengals, but his status was in limbo after undergoing
offseason back surgery. He reportedly chose the Giants over
returning to the Bengals.

The Atlanta Falcons released rookie linebacker Torrey Green amid
allegations that he raped two women and fondled a third.
According to TMZ, Green, an undrafted free agent out of Utah State,
is accused of sexually assaulting one woman on Jan. 14, 2015 and
another on Nov. 21, 2015 when he was a player for Utah State. The
groping incident also took place in November, according to TMZ.

Baltimore Ravens rookie defensive end Bronson Kaufusi will likely
miss the season after breaking his left ankle during practice.
Kaufusi, who is a third-round pick from Brigham Young, suffered the
injury when a teammate fell on his lower leg. He was carted off the
field.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is dealing with a mild
hamstring, coach John Fox told reporters.
Jeffery suffered the injury on Wednesday and did not participate in
the following day's practice.

Philadelphia Eagles veteran left tackle Jason Peters and safety
Malcolm Jenkins suffered injuries during practice.
Peters, who labored through an injury-plagued season in 2015, hurt a
quadriceps muscle on a running play in practice. Jenkins hurt his
hamstring.

The Denver Broncos added depth to their offensive line by signing
versatile Sam Carlson to a contract. The Broncos also waived
receiver Marlon Brown with an injury designation.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated rookie safety Elijah Shumate from
the non-football injury list, the team announced. Shumate was
sidelined with a wrist injury, according to published reports.

The Minnesota Vikings added depth in their backfield by signing
running back Kevin Monangai to a contract. Monangai had three
separate stints on Philadelphia's practice squad last season.

The Cleveland Browns addressed their backfield by signing fullback
Robert Hughes and running back Rajion Neal.
