Obituary
Rodney (Rod) James Hildebrands, 57, of Lincoln
formerly of Hartsbug, died Friday, July 22nd at his
home.
Rodney was born to Creston James and Eva Duckworth
Hildebrands October 6th, 1958 in Lincoln, Illinois.
Rod is preceded in death by his father, Creston
Hildebrands and his sister, Kay Wessbecher. He is
survived by his Mother, Eva Hildebrands and his
sisters, Cathy Shepler of Lincoln, Linda (the late
Robert) Ruder of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kim Koehne
of Lincoln, Connie (Bob) Hunter of Lincoln, Diane
(the late Bob) Harris of Lincoln, and Lisa (Jim)
West of Atlanta. He was also the loving Uncle of
many nieces and nephews who will greatly miss him.
From an early age Rod had many health obstacles that
detoured his life. However, he went beyond
everyone's expectations and finished high school,
participated in baseball and basketball in high
school and had a talent of working on small engines.
Rod loved supporting his sisters and nieces and
nephews in their school sports events. He enjoyed
going to the movies and playing pool with family and
friends. Rod was a loyal friend and an avid animal
lover, especially his cats. He would do anything for
his family. |
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at
Hartsburg United Methodist Church in Hartsburg, Illinois with Pastor
Tammy Werschey Kessinger officiating. Funeral Services will be
Wednesday morning 10:00 am at Hartsburg United Methodist Church with
burial to follow at Greenhill Cemetery in San Jose.
Memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Logan County
Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
