LINCOLN
- The Logan County Board and Community Action Partnership of Central
Illinois (CAPCIL) announce a new update to the Logan Mason Public
Transportation (LMPT) program. Beginning Friday July 22, 2016 LMPT
buses will begin a new condensed flex route and run from 8:00 a.m.
until 3:50 p.m. The route was condensed in order to better serve
customer needs. Ridership is expected to increase now that the
updated route is more time efficient.

A flex route is one where buses pick up and drop off riders at
predetermined bus stops, but offers riders the opportunity to call
in and make arrangements for the bus to pick up/drop from the
established route. This allows individuals who are unable to make it
to the predetermined spot to still be able to utilize LMPT. If an
individual would need the bus to flex off of the established route
they would need to call CAPCIL 24 hours prior to time of pick up.
Due to the flex, scheduled pick up times could vary slightly.
Riders are able to board/depart at any of the locations on the
schedule. Riders must be prepared to pay the fare with exact cash
upon boarding as drivers do not carry change.
Fare rates are as follows:
• Adult: $3.00
• Child 6-12 years old (escort required): $1.50
• Children under age 5: Free
• Seniors (60+): $2.50 suggested donation
Bus schedules are available in print as well as online and mobile
access. If you would like to view the route online, visit CAPCIL’s
website at
www.capcil.info/transportation-department.html
LMPT is also holding a “Spot the Bus” contest. If you see a LMPT bus
while you are out in Logan County snap a picture and post it to the
Facebook page. Every post gets entered for a prize for that month.
