Obituary

Larry Dean Bedwell, 77, of Lincoln, passed away August 3, 2016, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery.

Larry was born January 25, 1939, in Alexander County, the son of Leslie and Freda "Pearl" (Tompson) Bedwell. He married Sharon Long on June 16, 1998.

Larry was formerly employed at PPG and at Friendship Manor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and golfing.

 

Surviving are his wife Sharon Bedwell of Lincoln; daughters Kathryn "Chrissy" Mikles of Port Byron, and Alicyne (Josh) Shaffer of Elkhart, and his grandchildren Christopher Peterson, Katie Vroman, Kaylea Ingram, Damian Shaffer, and Jalen Shaffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Sharon Bedwell and will be accepted at the funeral home.
