[August 11, 2016]  WAYNESVILLE - Larry L. Thomas, 70, of Waynesville passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at The Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Visitation: Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Waynesville Christian Church

Service:  Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at the church

Funeral home:  Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Larry L. Thomas, 70, of Waynesville passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at The Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Waynesville Christian Church with Mr. Dave Taylor officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville with Military Honors by the Waynesville American Legion Post.

Larry L. Thomas was born on September 30, 1945 in Cornland, Illinois the son of Raymond and Louise Cherry Thomas. He was united in marriage to Mary Etta Rich on September 20, 1996 at the Waynesville Christian Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Lincoln, two sons: Jason (Crystal) Thomas of Mt. Pulaski, Nathan A. Thomas of Lincoln, two step children: Mike (Ruth) Craig,, Teresa (Billy Wright) Craig both of Clinton. two sisters: Vera Thomas and Mary Thomas George both of Lincoln. Two grandchildren: Brady Thomas and Madison Thomas. Two step grandchildren: Megan Craig and Ty Craig.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother: Floyd E. Thomas, one son; John Craig.

Larry graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1964. He then served in the United States Army.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 32 years of service.

Larry was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. He attended the Waynesville Christian Church .

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Christian Church.
