Los Angeles Angels right-hander Huston Street underwent
season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
A three-time All-Star, Street struggled to a 3-2 mark with a
career-low nine saves and a 6.45 ERA during an injury-plagued
season.
Despite a tough year, the 33-year-old Street was able to keep a
sense of humor judging by his response on Twitter shortly after
surgery.
"Just got out of surgery, still pretty loopy, but the doc said I
should come back throwing 98, but it could have been 89," Street
tweeted.

The New York Mets placed left-hander Jonathon Niese on the
disabled list with a left knee injury after his early exit
Tuesday night.
Niese was lifted against the St. Louis Cardinals only four
batters into the bottom of the first inning due to left knee
pain. He was placed on the DL shortly after the Mets' 7-4 win in
St. Louis.
The Mets announced that Niese had the ailment previously but did
not feel anything wrong while warming up.
