			formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the 
			Shelbina Villa, where she had resided for the past 8 ˝ years. |

							Obituary 
							 
							Edith “Honey” Rosemary Coogan, age 98 ˝, of 
							Shelbina, MO, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on 
							Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Shelbina Villa, 
							where she had resided for the past 8 ˝ years.
 She was born on January 25, 1918 in Lincoln, the 
							daughter of Henry A. and Jane E. Whitesell Heinzel. 
							She was a 1937 graduate of Lincoln High School. 
							Edith was married to James F. Coogan on April 26, 
							1939 in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on 
							September 29, 1984.
 
 Edith was survived by a daughter, Kathleen F. Wilham 
							(Darrell) of Shelbina, MO; and son, James H. Coogan 
							(Judy) of Mount Pulaski; eight grandchildren; 13 
							great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
 She was preceded in death by her parents; two 
							brothers, James H. and William A. Heinzel; one 
							sister, Mary Jane Blatterman; a daughter, Colleen 
							Jane Cyrulik; and a son, John William Coogan.
 
 Edith was an excellent candy maker, cook, and loved 
							working with crafts. When she lived in Lincoln, she 
							spent many hours at the Oasis. She was a homemaker 
							and later a sales clerk at Landauer’s in Lincoln. 
							She loved her family and enjoyed making candy at 
							Christmas for them. She had a great sense of humor 
							and loved the activities at the Villa, especially 
							Bingo.
 
 A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. 
							at the Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski, on 
							Friday, August 26, 2016. The visitation is Friday, 
							August 26, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the 
							Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO.
 
 Memorials may be made to the Shelbina Villa 
							Activities Fund or The Oasis Senior Center in 
							Lincoln.
