Highlights of Friday's Major League Baseball games:
 Cubs 6, Dodgers 4 (10 innings)

Kris Bryant homered twice, including a game-winning two-run homer in
the 10th, and rallied the Chicago Cubs to a 6-4 road victory over
			the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bryant, who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, tagged Dodgers reliever
Adam Liberatore (2-1) after Dexter Fowler singled to start the
inning. It was his National League-best 35th home run, boosting the
Cubs (82-45) to their fourth straight win.

Reliever Travis Wood (4-0) worked a perfect ninth for the decision.
Arnoldis Chapman earned his 30th save with a scoreless 10th.

 Blue Jays 15, Twins 8

Justin Smoak and Russell Martin each had five RBIs, Francisco
Liriano earned his first win for the Blue Jays and Toronto used four
home runs to defeat the Minnesota Twins 15-8.

Smoak, Martin, Josh Donaldson, who added three RBIs, and Darwin
Barney all went deep as the Blue Jays (72-56) took a one-game lead
in the American League East after the Boston Red Sox lost to the
			Royals.

 Astros 5, Rays 4

Evan Gattis launched a walk-off home run to cap a wild ninth inning
in Houston's victory over Tampa Bay at Minute Maid Park.

After shortstop Carlos Correa drilled an opposite-field home run to
right field on the first pitch from Rays closer Alex Colome (1-4) in
the ninth inning, Gattis worked the count full before crushing a 3-2
			pitch deep to left field.

 Nationals 8, Rockies 5

Veteran lefty Gio Gonzalez picked up his 100th career win and Jayson
Werth and Bryce Harper each had two hits and two RBIs as Washington
			beat Colorado.

Gonzalez (9-9) allowed two runs and just four hits in six innings
before he was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the last of the sixth.

			 Royals 6, Red Sox 3
The hottest pitching staff in baseball slowed down the best offense
			in baseball.

Kansas City, who boasts the best ERA in the majors in August, held
Boston at bay, and the Royals bullpen extended its franchise-record
			scoreless-innings streak to 42 innings before a ninth-inning hiccup
in a win at Fenway Park.

Starter Ian Kennedy (9-9) earned the win for the Royals (67-61), who
have won 11 of their past 12 games and 16 of their past 19.

 Yankees 14, Orioles 4

Gary Sanchez highlighted another big night at the plate with a long
two-run homer and New York rolled to a victory over Baltimore.

Sanchez drove in four runs and had three hits in his first four
at-bats but it was his home run to deep left off Vance Worley that
prompted chants of "Gary Sanchez" from the crowd.

 Mets 9, Phillies 4

Bartolo Colon contributed with his arm and his bat Friday night,
when the right-hander earned the win by pitching into the eighth
inning while collecting two hits and scoring two runs as New York
cruised past Philadelphia at Citi Field.

The Mets won for the fifth time in six games to remain 3 1/2 games
behind the St Louis Cardinals in the race for the National League's
			second wild card.

 Mariners 3, White Sox 1

Felix Hernandez pitched 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball and Edwin Diaz
pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning as Seattle
beat Chicago at U.S. Cellular Field.

Verlander retired 20-of-21 batters between singles in the first and
eighth innings to power Detroit to a victory over Los Angeles and
			its fifth straight win.

Albert Pujols reached Verlander for his 585th career home run, one
shy of tying Frank Robinson for ninth place on the all-time list, in
			the opening inning.
 Cardinals 3, Athletics 1

Luke Weaver's third major league start netted his first win.

Working six solid innings, Weaver helped St Louis tighten its hold

			Busch Stadium.

			Marlins 7, Padres 6
Chris Johnson's walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth

bounced over the wall in right field and scored Jeff Francoeur from
			second for the winning run.

 Indians 12, Rangers 1

Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber improved to 4-0 this month and
the Indians' offense got going in a win over Texas.

Kluber (14-8) allowed just one run in six innings and had plenty of
offense as Abraham Almonte matched his career high with four RBIs
and Roberto Perez set a career high with four hits.

 Pirates 5, Brewers 3

Jordy Mercer hit his first career grand slam and Ryan Vogelsong
struck out six as Pittsburgh handed Milwaukee a loss at Miller Park.

Vogelsong (3-3), making his fifth start since coming off the
disabled list, worked 5 1/3 innings and allowed two runs, four hits
and four walks. He's 5-0 with a 2.65 ERA in his last five starts
			against Milwaukee.

 Giants 7, Braves 0

Jeff Samardzija shut out Atlanta over seven innings, leading San
Francisco to a victory in the opener of a three-game series.

Joe Panik also drove in a pair of runs, as the Giants won for just
the third time in the opening game of their last 13 series.

 Diamondbacks 4, Reds 3 (11 innings)

Brandon Drury doubled down the left-field line in the 11th inning,
took third on a grounder and scored on a wild pitch in Arizona's
victory over Cincinnati at Chase Field.

After Tuffy Gosewisch walked to put runners on first and third with
two outs, Blake Wood (5-3) threw a wild pitch on his first pitch to
Jean Segura, and Drury scored easily. (Editing by John O'Brien)
