[November 30, 2016]  NEW HOLLAND - Thomas Lee "Tom" Tibbs, 61, of New Holland, passed away November 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Service: A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Tibbs' residence in New Holland.

Thomas Lee "Tom" Tibbs, 61, of New Holland, passed away November 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation rites have been accorded byHolland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Tibbs' residence in New Holland.

Tom was born December 7, 1954, in Shelbyville, the son of Roland and Lottie (Preston) Tibbs. He married Shirley Daniels on December 22, 1978, in Mississippi.

He proudly served in the United States Army. Tom was a welder, mechanic, and carpenter. He was formerly employed by the Logan County Cemetery District. He was an avid barterer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching wrestling and westerns, spending time in the garage, and spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Surviving are his wife Shirley Tibbs of New Holland; children: Jeannia Griffin of Lincoln, Rex (Sally) Griffin of Mason City, Jennifer (John) Donovan of Armington, Tommy (Kristin) Tibbs of New Holland, Terry (Tammy) Tibbs of Lincoln; grandchildren: Casey Martinie, Brandon Alley, Chase Griffin, Jonni Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Jordan Tibbs, Audie John Griffin, Tabitha Griffin, Katelyn Tibbs, Matthew Tibbs, Preston Daggett, Damian Tibbs, Briana Daggett, Tyler Sutton, and Jacob Donovan; great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Alley, Payton Alley, and Jace Griffin; brother Gene (Evelyn) Tibbs of San Jose, sister Linda (Jim) Remlinger of Lincoln, and cousin Mark Tibbs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donnie Tibbs, and twin brother Timothy Tibbs.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.
