[December 05, 2016]  Dec 4 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of National Football League games played on Sunday:

Patriots 26, Rams 10

Tom Brady became the quarterback with the most NFL wins ever and New England improved to 10-2 on the season with their victory over Los Angeles.

The Patriots held the Rams to 25 yards of offense in the first half -- the fewest number of yards ever allowed by New England in a half on their way to an emphatic win over the Rams (4-8) losers of their last three.

Brady, who threw one touchdown pass, posted the 201st victory, including the postseason, in his pro career, breaking the tie he had with Peyton Manning.

Chiefs 29, Falcons 28

Eric Berry, who already had an interception return for a touchdown, picked off an attempted two-point conversion pass from Matt Ryan in the fourth quarter and raced 99 yards to give Kansas City victory over Atlanta.

The Chiefs (9-3) also scored two touchdowns on fourth-down plays, including a fake punt, as they stunned the Falcons (7-5).

Albert Wilson raced 55 yards with a short direct snap on the fake punt and Berry, an Atlanta native, had a 37-yard interception return for a TD. Quarterback Alex Smith completed 21 of 25 passes for 270 yards and a Chiefs touchdown.

--

Steelers 24, Giants 14

Ben Roethlisberger, thriving again in a matchup of quarterbacks from the 2004 draft class, threw two touchdown passes and Pittsburgh took advantage of repeated early New York mistakes to their six-game winning streak.

Roethlisberger, the last of the three star QBs drafted 12 years ago in the first round but arguably the best, found Antonio Brown for 22 yards and tight end Ladarius Green for 20 yards on scores to outplay Giants QB Eli Manning.

The Steelers (7-5) won their third in a row after dropping four straight in coming out on top against the Giants (8-4).

--

Ravens 38, Dolphins 6

Joe Flacco threw for 381 yards with four touchdowns and tight end Dennis Pitta had nine catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns as Baltimore snapped visiting Miami's six-game winning streak.

Baltimore (7-5) remained on top of the AFC North, while the Dolphins slipped to 7-5, dampening their playoff hopes.

--

Packers 21, Texans 13

A limping Aaron Rodgers, hobbled with a hamstring injury, led Green Bay past Houston at snowy Lambeau Field.

Rodgers completed 20 of 30 on the slippery field for 209 yards and two touchdowns and directed back-to-back scoring drives of 98 and 89 yards in the second half to snap a 7-7 tie.

The victory kept the Packers (6-6) alive in the NFC North. Houston lost its third in a row and fell into a first-place tie with Tennessee at 6-6 in the AFC South.

--

Raiders 38, Bills 24

Derek Carr threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns, and Oakland came from behind to score 29 unanswered points and defeat Buffalo at the Oakland Coliseum.

The Raiders won their sixth straight game and improved to 10-2 to remain in first place in the AFC West, one game ahead of the 9-3 Chiefs. The Bills (6-6) lost in Oakland for the ninth straight time as their playoff hopes took a huge blow.

--

Broncos 20, Jaguars 10

Needing a victory to keep pace in the competitive AFC playoff race, Denver turned to their talented defense, and the defense delivered against Jacksonville at EverBank Field.

Denver (8-4) forced Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles into three turnovers, including an interception that was returned for a touchdown. The loss eliminated Jacksonville (2-10) from playoff contention for the ninth straight season.

--

Lions 28, Saints 13

Matthew Stafford threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns and Matt Prater kicked five field goals to lift Detroit Lions over New Orleans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

In winning for the sixth time in seven games, the Lions (8-4) took control of the NFC North and dealt a critical blow to the playoff hopes of the Saints (5-7).

--

Buccaneers 28, Chargers 21

Tampa Bay rallied in the second half to notch their fourth straight win by outscoring San Diego 21-7 after the intermission.

Jameis Winston completed 20 of 30 attempts for 280 yards, a touchdown and an interception as the visiting Buccaneers improved to 7-5, while San Diego slid to 5-7.

--

Cardinals 31, Redskins 23

Carson Palmer passed for three touchdowns, including a 42-yarder to J.J. Nelson with just under two minutes to play, and Arizona held off Washington at University of Phoenix Stadium.

With the victory, the Cardinals (5-6-1) avoided losing their third straight game for the first time under coach Bruce Arians.

Washington (6-5-1) lost its second straight.

--

Bengals 32, Eagles 14

Andy Dalton, playing without Pro-Bowl receiver A.J. Green, passed for 332 yards and two touchdowns and Mike Nugent kicked four field goals, lifting Cincinnati over Philadelphia at Paul Brown Stadium.

Brandon LaFell had five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown for Cincinnati (4-7-1) which snapped a three-game losing streak, while Philadelphia fell to 5-7 after starting the season 3-0.

--

Bears 26, 49ers 6

Jordan Howard made his first experience playing in snow a memorable one as he ran for 117 yards and three touchdowns in Chicago's victory over San Francisco at Soldier Field.

The Bears (3-9), giving Matt Barkley his second career start at quarterback, handed the 49ers (1-11) their 11th straight loss.
