In the seventh grade contest, the Crusaders pulled out a
43-29 victory, with a balanced scoring effort, led by Trent
Koehler with 17 points, Andrew Graue with 15 and Drew McCray
with 11. The win moved the Crusaders to 9-4 on the season.
In the 8th grade contest, which matched up the state champions
from last year, in the Knights from Epiphany, with the Crusaders
from CCS/NHM/ZLS, who finished 2nd in the state. The game did
not fail to live up to its hype. In a close game, the Crusaders
failed to pull out the victory, ultimately losing by a score of
49-46.
The Crusaders had one last chance to tie the game after Dylan
Singleton stole an in-bounds pass and dribbled out to shoot an
unbalanced 3-pointer as time expired. The Crusaders were led in
scoring by Singleton with 25 points. Rounding out the scoring
was Andrew Graue with nine, Jared Helton with five, Trent
Koehler with four and Nathan Fulscher with three. The Crusaders
drop their first game of the season and fall to 12-1.
We will travel to Springfield to play Blessed Sacrament Tuesday
(today) with the seventh-graders kicking things off at 6 p.m.
